The Bennington County State's Attorneys' Office works to uphold the public's trust in the pursuit of justice and the enforcement of the law. The State’s Attorneys Office is led by Erica A. Marthage. The State’s Attorney is an elected official charged with primary enforcement of Vermont's laws in their county. In this role, Erica holds herself and the other members of her staff to a high standard of integrity, caring, good judgment, and professionalism.

  Erica strives to create an environment where members of the community are protected, helped, and treated with compassion and respect. Erica and her staff are available as a resource to all of the residents of Bennington County. Each day, they work with the courts and numerous organizations to assist the victims of crime, those suffering from addiction, families impacted by crime or addiction, children in need, and help those charged with crimes get their lives back on track.
